Let's Make A Deal For A Bulldog

And just as I finished typing the last blog it was announced that the Dolphins traded up from 174 to grab Washington's pick at 163 so that they could grab Georgia safety Reshad Jones. In addition they gave up one of their three seventh-round picks (219th overall).

Miami has now taken five defensive players with their first six picks as they continue to fill holes on that side of the ball after having released free safety Gibril Wilson.

Jones will compete with Tyrone Culver and last year's fifth-round pick, Chris Clemons, for that starting free safety position.

And now the Dolphins have two picks left in the seventh round. We are nearing the end.

  1. Great pick. The first one that seems to finally fill a need and be a "value" pick. At least according to the "experts" out there.
